Any one who knows me well knows that I have struggled with migraines my entire life. I remember being in school and having to take bottles of whatever pain relief my parents had with me because I needed to make it through the day. They got worse as I grew and I had tried everything throughout the years to try to ease the pain. I tried every pill the Dr.’s threw at me, I tried holistic and natural products, no relief came.

I noticed that while I was pregnant they stopped but shortly after I had my boys, the migraines came back with a vengeance. I remember calling my dad once because I had my daughter who was nine at the time and my two baby boys and I couldn’t take the pain. I couldn’t handle my kids and the pain. I felt like I was failing as a mother. I knew most of my triggers so I would avoid a lot of things, but I would still get them and they would last a couple days and then I’d be out of it for a couple more days trying to get back to normal. I just couldn’t live that way anymore.

I searched and scoured the web and I couldn’t really find any answers. Then I looked in the comment section on a site that sold pills that promised to help. In the comments a woman said she started taking magnesium daily along with some other things and she had never had a migraine again. I was desperate so I drove down to Walmart and bought everything she listed. I didn’t notice a difference immediatly. In fact I took the vitamins for about 6 months before I realized it had been about a month since I had a migraine. Time went on and I didnt have to plan my life around the worry that I would get a migraine. I have been able to enjoy family gatherings without having to go to the other room and lay down in the dark alone.

It has been a few years since I have had a migraine and I give all the credit to magnesium. I am not a Dr. so I can’t tell you that you should take it, all I can tell you is my experience and how it has changed my life. I still take magnesium supplements a few times a week and I also use magnesium lotion topically to help with pain and to help get better sleep. I am a true believer in the power of magnesium.
